Great excitement at The Maples as we were delighted to have been shortlisted in the category “Best Supporter of Local Produce” in the CLA and New Forest National Park Authority Awards 2016, which was presented at The New Forest Show.
As many may know, the team at The Maples are passionate about using and supporting local produce and producers, and promoting New Forest businesses within The Maples. Guests can look forward to fresh and locally sourced breakfasts and any combination of the New Forest Breakfast with meat supplied by Sargents Butchers, homemade jam using Goodall’s Strawberries, honey from Ashlett Creek Produce and free range eggs purchased from New Forest Bacon at the weekly Hythe Market. With homemade marmalade, freshly squeezed orange juice, apple juice from Hill Farm Apple Juice, New Forest Spring Water, coffee from Winchester Coffee Roasters and Dorset Tea also accompanying our breakfast.
Within the guest bedrooms we supply complementary bottles of New Forest Spring Water and toiletries from New Forest Aromatics; even throws on the beds are made with Hampshire wool from The Smallholding at Tufton. Local pictures of Hythe and prints by New Forest artists: Brian Harrild, Barry Peckham, Bradley Hutchings and Gervase Gregory and Chris Button adorn the bedroom walls, while throughout the hall and dining room there is a revolving gallery of New Forest photographs by local photographer Chris Button. To further delight our guests and to maintain our core theme, The Maples is also stockists of New Forest Ice Cream selling tubs to our guests as required generally outside of breakfast time, but we can make exceptions!
Martin and I had a fun day out at The New Forest Show, when The Maples and Spice’N’Easy was awarded with Highly Commended in the Best Supporter of Local Produce category. Congratulations to Appetite for Adventure for winning the award.
