There's Plenty of Things to do in and Around Hythe

There are plenty of things to do when you're staying at The Maples Guest House, Hythe. Relax and watch the huge cruise liners, even bigger container ships, and ferries from many waterfront vantage points in Hythe village. Take a trip on Hythe Ferry to the shopper’s paradise of Southampton, the museums as well as the many links to The Titanic. it’s also easy to take a trip to the Isle of Wight.
Blessed with the outstanding beauty of the neighbouring New Forest with interesting towns and villages as well as the many wildlife including ponies, donkeys, cows and deer. There is home to the National Motor Museum in Beaulieu. As well as the beautiful grounds of Exbury. For the younger members of the family, there is Peppa Pig World at Paultons Park. With easy access to Calshot to enjoy water sports or visit the historic Calshot Castle, an artillery fort, built by Henry VIII to defend the sea passage to Southampton, was recently used as a Navy and RAF base. Then there is Lepe Country Park, which has over a mile of beach for a paddle. Or why not take refreshments at The Lookout, a newly built café with superb views of the Solent across to the Isle of Wight.
There are plenty of ways to explore the area with bus tours, boats, bicycles and walks. One walk that several of our guests follow is The Solent Way, from Milford-on-Sea to Emsworth. This walk is broken into manageable segments, one is Beaulieu to Hythe and another is Hythe to Hamble.
