Terms & Conditions

Thank you for choosing to book with The Maples.  We’re really looking forward to welcoming you. When you make this booking you are entering into an agreement with us. Please read our terms and conditions of booking below.

Prices:

Our price includes your accommodation on a bed and breakfast basis, so including breakfast. Extras, including telephone calls, drinks, meals or packed lunches etc are charged as consumed. We accept the following forms of payment: cash or debit/credit card.

Deposits:

A deposit of one night stay is required to guarantee a booking. Fourteen day notice of cancellation is required for refund, minus £5 administration fee per room. If cancellation occurs within 14 days of arrival the deposit will not be refunded.

Cancellation and Insurance:

Once you have booked your stay, our agreement is a legal contract and any deposit you have paid is non-refundable.  In the unfortunate event that you need to cancel your booking, please inform us by email – hythebedandbreakfast@gmail.com or by telephone 023 8084 6723.  We will confirm by email return.  You need written acknowledgement from The Maples that we have received your cancellation request.  If we do not contact you by return we would ask that you assume that we have not received your message.  We will do everything we can to re-let the accommodation, because if we are successful we will make no further charge and we will refund the deposit already paid – less £5.00 administration per room.  If we are not able to re-let, the charge for the first night of your stay is payable.  Falling to take up your booking without cancelling renders you liable for the total amount of your stay.

A cancellation within 48 hours of your planned arrival date is likely to provoke a full charge being made to your card.  We will do everything we can to re-let the accommodation, in which case this full charge, less the administration fee of £5.00 per room, would not be applicable.

If you are concerned about cancellation, you may wish to take out insurance, which is inexpensive. For Christmas Break reservations, the cancellation period is thirty days.

Non-availability:

We would only ever cancel your booking if your accommodation was unavailable for reasons beyond our control. We would always attempt to offer you alternative accommodation, however if this was not possible, or unacceptable to you, then we would refund ALL monies paid by you. Our liability would not extend beyond this refund.

Arrival:

Your accommodation will be available between 16.00 (4pm) and 18.00 (6pm) on the day of your arrival. If you plan to arrive earlier or later than this, please let us know so we can plan our day. Please advise if you plan to arrive after 20.00 (8pm).

Departure:

Our checkout time is 10.30am on the day of your departure, and the balance of your account becomes due for payment on departure unless otherwise agreed.

Damages and Breakages:

Please take care with our home. You are responsible and liable for any breakages or damage which you cause to the accommodation or its contents. Please report these as soon as they occur. We do not normally charge for minor breakages, but we may send you an invoice for repair or making good if the damage or breakage is significant, or we have not been advised.

NB: The Maples is also our home and any items either on display or being used in the running of our business, belong to us. Anything which is removed without prior agreement will be charged.

Liability:

We do not accept any liability for any damage, loss or injury to any member of your party or any vehicles or possessions, unless proven to be caused by a negligent act by ourselves, our employees or contractors whilst acting in the course of employment.

Data:

Any data gathered during the course of this booking may be held on computer, but is definitely held in written form. With your permission, we will add you to our mailing list for our newsletter, which is sent out via email, detailing things that are happening and any special offers. Please advise if you would rather be removed from this list.
